Layoffs in LWR last week. Half of our team got hit. No mention of it in the quarterly meeting a week ago. The next round of hunger games for LWR should be in around 6 weeks if they continue their previous cadence. Right after the current group rolls of payroll. The LWR campus lease is up in Sept 2021. My guess is everyone will be out of there by then or earlier. They might find a buyer for the North America business and customers and focus everywhere else except North America. Also with the virus, it seems the need for the cDVR service and demand is shrinking with the aid of the instant OTT services. Good luck all!
So. Just a few weeks after the last cuts, Synamedia does it again. Several more cut from cDVR support and rumors of more from other areas. This just 6 weeks after the previous cuts.
Synamedia VN posted bad numbers year end so sorry to all you front line support people, but Juli-enne Signals makes up the difference by starting FY 21 with lower overhead. Why bother to sell something when you can easily sack more people? Does anyone have any shred of confidence left for Yves or his ability to put a sales team in place? Does anyone find it ironic that he was in sales before?
