Thread regarding Halliburton Co. layoffs

Halliburton is a POS company and I am so glad I got paid to leave

Hal layoffs
I remember when my manager had the audacity to mention to me that I should work harder to improve Halliburton stock. He held a sizable position and assumed that I did too. Ha! Why would I hold the stock of a company going nowhere? I fully participated in the stock purchase program, but made sure to do a market sell ASAP to lock in my gains. Two years ago the stock was $41. Now look at it: $15. Anybody surprised by this is an absolute fool.

Halliburton has always been a trash company with incompetent leaders. Any conservative id–t who thinks oil and gas is the way of the future deserves all of the pain and suffering that comes with believing in a dying industry. There are so many fools that are ignoring the growth in renewables, electric, wind, etc. All of you that think fracking and drilling is a viable long-term solution will fade away into obscurity, and rightly so.

I initiated my plan to leave this complete garbage company years ago. When I got laid off, it was a dream come true: I got paid to leave! Things could not have worked out any better for me. It took years, but my preparation paid off. I am now out of the oil and gas industry and working at a much better company, with much smarter people, and best of all making more money.

I don’t feel sorry for any of you that had faith in Halliburton. You should have been preparing to get out the day you accepted the offer to work there. And if you are still at that hellhole 3000 N Sam Houston Pkwy, you should not consider yourself lucky. You should be trying to get out ASAP. Believe me, life is so much better outside. Peace!

Kingfungis is the largest loser on this site planning his departure for years only to get laid off. Worst execution of goals in Houston for year after year.

Repeat milkdud.

I worked at Otis/ Halliburton for 20 years, I enjoyed every minute of it worked with a bunch of great people, had a blast learned a lot about the oil business. When i left i had no regrets Halliburton gave me a very good life. I did go through some hard times from 1995 thru 1999 first part of 2000. Even though I suffered GOD was GOOD to me. I found a job that I had been doing for the last 20 years and I wouldn't trade it for any thing. I had the privilege of going back to HES back in 2012 thru 2015 and management had changed to the worst, the new young employees were a bunch of id–ts. I went back in 2017 thru 2019 and yes id–ts new management. Robert Isiah, a young red hair girl some lady named Melisa, a black girl can't remember her name. Either way I'm sorry for all my buddies that lost their job. GOD BLESS

Haha it’s sad how some of you are mad at my post. You simply do not understand why I would come back and bask in the glory of Halliburton’s failures. I guess your comprehension is very poor.

Every day I see in the news that the O&G industry is doing worse, and Hal is doing the worst among the worst, and it makes me happy that I was so fortunate that I got out. I don’t see why that is so hard to understand for some of you, but I guess having low intelligence is part of supporting Hal. Another great reason that I am not there anymore!

Now I wonder why Halls reputation is so bad in public. Look at how current employees/managers talk about people. Sad

Dear 'Sour Grapes.' When you write an ex-girlfriend to tell her how "over" her you are, it doesn't show that you are truly over her. The best way to show that is to move on and not complain to everyone who knows her about how you say she treated you.

There are over 600 products made from oil. Tires, asphalt , plastics, the list is immense. Why did you wait so long to leave? Personally, if I hated it that much, I’d left way before a downturn .

Did you work by any chance for Sperry Software? I did not get laid off but I quit the company because I hated it just like you. The managers in that group were clearly biased and I saw myself with no future whatsoever there. I agree 100% with you. Its a dying company.
