How will Halliburton be able to compete with this?

Covid 19 has given us glimpse of what will happen to Halliburton if oil demand decreases. In the future, it wont be the virus the problem anymore. It will be Tesla,Nikola,VW GM etc. Tesla is currently working on a Million miles battery that will outlast the car. Dont worry guys, Halliburton has ICruise.

So Einstein, where does the electricity come from to charge the batteries? And ‘million mile’ battery won’t keep the car running for a million miles after one charge! If all the vehicles in the US get converted to electric, do you know how much power would be required to sustain them? Hydro and Nuclear power we have won’t cut it.

Because oil and gas demand has never decreased before. The fundamental equations are still energy returned on energy invested, energy density, charge times, and ease of distribution. Electricity isn't going to be running agriculture or the heavy equipment needed for strip mining anytime soon while oil is just going to get more and more expensive to extract. Halliburton will be a necessary evil even when oil is $1000 per barrel, because the price of every other form of energy will rise too. Solar, Wind, Hydropower and the rest rely on economically viable inputs too.
