Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Sold!

Sad to report I sold our last zero turn mower and snowblower today. Same guy bought both for full price. Apparently it’s not just Sears running low on inventory but the flu has damaged everyone’s supply chain.

Everything left in tools sells for full price now~ it’s crazy, reminds me of the 90’s back when I started.

Hope everyone’s doing well and staying safe.

@6plg+16ctqTOW Oh it's far worse than that. I guarantee you ESL has no idea what fixed asset turnover is even now forget inventory. You see it with Seritage and real estate where neither he nor Berkowitz have the knowledge possessed by the typical graduate of a half day Trump University seminar.

I don't know how Eddie managed to be in retail for 15 years without getting the memo that inventory turnover rate is a metric that every retailer considers critically important. Sears had an inventory turnover that looked like a bankrupt company for years before it actually happened. Stores used to manage this themselves before Eddie took this power away from individual stores. For a guy who keeps on hammering metrics, he sure was clueless.

Someone actually had the sense to plan instead of waiting until after a snowstorm then getting angry when everything was sold? I think thats the most shocking part of this.

Good to see that people are managing to use their rewards points on something, even if it's snowblowers in July.
