Thread regarding Boeing Co. layoffs

Reactions to Calhoun’s email on reductions due to covid.

Interesting to see what the study will determine on best way to combine 787 lines.

Boeing will NEVER die, too big to fail, and far too big a prime USA industrial giant & global exporter to ever be allowed to fail by GOPs or DEMs in DC ....the Defense side is booming with contracts & orders, as are other sectors, those will float the boat until Commercial recovers post covid ....that said, headcount reductions are going to be staggeringly high on the Commercial side, upwards of 20% to 25% when the dust settle .....by comparison, in 1998, there was 238,000 employees and 48,000 got cut, that was a 20% drop ....these covid layoffs will easily be higher than that 20% .....if you work in Commercial in Puget Sound, buckle up, this will be very bumpy ride and not a single person safe until they wake up on the 4th NEXT year still employed .....and it's gonna be a ghost town on the Commercial side for a few years

I'm us down 15 to 20 percent from beginning to end of the year. Maybe 30,000 people when it's all over.

is that what you took from that email? Must be in some cushy management job and related to an executive leader.

The rest of us read that as more layoffs and no end in sight.

Congrats on your a– kissing position.
