Cost Plus has to decided to let go of all of its furniture heads and any gourmet/beverage head whose last lay off got delayed from Covid. The Logistics Supervisor position will only be part time, but apparently some people that have been Logistics for awhile can be grandfathered in to remaining full time. At my store we just lost two of our best so that this company can save pennies. Managers that remain are receiving a "lateral promotion" which is just the professional way of saying more work, same terrible pay. Like many American companies, they have shown themselves to be money first, people second.

I was layed off/terminated one month after my 40 year anniversary. Devastated lost everything and the severance was a slap in the face.
I actually gave some thought to reapplying but luckily I knocked some sense in my head.
I did nothing but work my butt off for this company for 7+ years. Worked every overnight asked of me. Took a leadership role in my department head position and store. Why would I ever bring that loyalty and passion back to a company that threw me away without a 2ND thought. Refuse to shop there again.
So with letting the Home dept head go, they just kept her on and made her asst manager. Yet all of us POS were told we couldn’t stay on with the company.
I’m p-ss-d with myself for even keeping up with what’s happening but letting go has been hard.
Stores in Illinois already laid off their Dept Heads last year just before the holiday season - horrible idea that resulted in a drop in Christmas sales.
The second round of layoffs (7/27) in Illinois anyway were managers. They were laid off as the rest of the associates were un-furloughed. Hours will be cut again soon. This company is sinking ...
