I was an executive for the company until i retired a few years ago... Rodney could care less about the people in this company... I heard it straight from his mouth... that we shouldn’t feel bad about letting people go... a ceo from a company outside the industry convinced him that the skill set needed to compete in today’s market was different than the skill set veteran managers had... he said we need to update the company. He was callous about getting rid of 30 and 40 year veterans of the company. In meetings when he would give his panned speech about how “outstanding” (he uses this word way too much) the company’s associates were and how much they were valued.... Myself and other executives would look at each other and roll our eyes... I cannot tell you how many times i was Presenting in afternoon meetings with this guy and he would fall asleep! It was an ongoing joke with myself and others. I feel bad for some of my friends that are veterans of the company and need their jobs... he doesnt care about people...

It literally took a global pandemic, panic buying so save Rodney's sorry @ss.
All the money spent on that Carl guy that ran around the divisions implementing that 1st Team Stuff. What a waste of money but more importantly a waste of peoples time.
Look, everyone knows that covid 19 extended Rodneys career by looking at the numbers. But until the Board looks at Rodney for who he is nothing will change. He is certainly not a leader. He is tone deaf and only seeks advice from that little circle around him. I've seen him in action up close - not a good person - red and nasty.
He needs to go. He only cares about himself.
I agree with both of the above posts. I retired after 47 years with Kroger and had seen pretty much all the good, bad and ugly i think. And bad and ugly are in charge at Kroger right now. And the values that Dave Dillon spent so much time building have been tossed in the sh__ can. And the market knows, look at what Rodney has done for the stock price during his tenure. One bad project after another wasting more good money after bad. Always chasing windmills, but now with all his hatchet men who speak with an accent or came from an outside under performing company like P&G morale and now has hit a record low for morale as long as I can remember. Time for the board of directors to wake up and do their elected duty as given by the stockholders and send Rodney out somewhere that he can't hurt the company any longer.
That sounds about right to me. All the customer first and take care of the employees stopped when dave left.
It was obvious he didn't give a c__p about long term employees. He could have an employee base that would move heaven and earth to get the company where it needed to be, but he would rather have a bunch of boot licking yes men around that allowed him to ignore the plummeting moral that has been increasing with each stupid decision. It's way past time for him to retire. And that horrible ad with the creepy exercise guy has me grabbing the remote to pause the channel way too much, why do they feel the need to harass us with the same obnoxious music/ ads ad nauseam? Working in the store hearing the same music every hour day in and day out is maddening.
