Another round of layoffs and demotions today. They said they're cutting 10% this year because business is underperforming due to COVID.

No one said underperforming - said due to aligning projects to priorities - no longer working on people’s pet projects. The IT spend at this company is astronomical - how come no one talks about the reimplemtstion of merit for anyone who didn’t get a MIP.
i heard not due to COVID but due to deprioritization of nonvalue added projects.
