All Employee Virtual Conversation

I wonder what will be discussed in the all-employee virtual conversation after the Q2 earnings call.

I suspect VH's prepared comments will include the following topics:

  1. OXY's ongoing pursuit of "sustainabiity"/ESG initiatives.
  2. OXY remaining the producer/employer "of choice"...
  3. "Shrinking to grow"
  4. Pink Petro

Laughing stock.

Oxy's rumor dept is working hard recently trying to get interest in our assets. Everyone knows we have to sell. So they get one bite of interest and then they sell it like crazy. (See recent news regarding PT asset sale possibility). If we do somehow make it work, it wont be at high dollar but it could be enough to bridge the gap to survive another yr.

Did someone really say that they have lost no one of consequence? I hope not. If so that is an insult to many many people who have left under the VSP.

Oxy most a lot of great talent in place of piss poor managers staying on. For VH to say that they’ve lost no one of consequence reflects on her inability to be a good CEO. I’ve never seen such a two-faced CEO who has sunk a company so spectacularly. Her lack of transparency, honesty and poor management structure is what is destroying Oxy’s value.

How far must the company shrink to be profitable. Theoretically if you sell off enough assets you will get to a point where money can be made at a reasonable debt load. Is it 50% of the current size? Maybe 25%?

“ Commenting that the team still here is truly the best and we have finally gotten rid of the pretenders. (Because no one left on their own over the last year)”

Is that what she says?

I wouldn't expect anything of merit since this company is the worst at communication.

Highlights from call will be the following:

  1. VH will give herself credit for handling things and restructuring our debt.
  2. VH will talk about the failed asset sales as a win for us to get better market value later.
  3. Commenting that the team still here is truly the best and we have finally gotten rid of the pretenders. (Because no one left on their own over the last year)
  4. Talk about survey results stating that everyone wants to come back to the office soon because they trust that Autie VH will keep them safe.
  5. Briefly mention we need more layoffs but not LAPC people because we cant afford that.
  6. Talk about a company wide paycut because oil isnt rising the way we thought when we gave it back. Now it's a 25% cut across board.
  7. We are fine and dont worry about finance situation. Ichan and Buffet believe in us!

There will be a more of the continuous greeting sessions for APC staff and the announcement of focus teams for next years United Way. They are hoping for a full week of dodgeball to bring up participation in this year's pledge.

Economic slavery? I'm not woke enough to understand that one yet.

The true sign of economic slavery in the energy sector is when everyone from the field hand to the engineers can get sh*t on for decades and they keep coming back for more. They treat people like cattle because they know you’ll always put your “wants” before your “needs” and that’s not to say there’s anything wrong with wanting things, it’s the price you pay in pursuit of it that has to considered.
