Is he still a guru or just a has-been? As CTO (although not an actual employee) isn't he supposed to lead the technology? Remember how much he gets paid as you're heading out to the unemployment office.

“Leave Mr. B in peace.”
Wow, what a fanboy. You don’t leave anyone s—ing millions from the company “in peace.” You expect them to earn their keep or get out.
In any other organisation, and soon this one too, YOU would be removed. That is a great summary of the value of your professional activities. Leave Mr. B in peace
Brobst - in any other organisation he would have been removed long ago. Such an embarrassment
What personal insults? Saying he's done nothing, not pushed forth the product, and has not helped TD transform is a performance evaluation. Saying he dresses like a high school graduate that got promoted to CTO is personal, but also professional too. His burning man presentation showing scantly clad women, while he's up there looking like a drunk Las Vegas reject is an embarrassment to the C suite, to TD, and to anyone who takes this company seriously. I agree with the comments below, he should be removed for that presentation alone. Saying he's widely respected is conjecture at best.
I would only ask the ppl here for more respect for Mr. B. He is a really smart individual, ex advisor to the president of US. Personal insults are really not the level we should have this conversation. On my end I lack the visibility on his TD activities but he is a great public speaker and reputable technologist
Brobst has done absolutely nothing for years. He hasn't set any technical direction; hasn't helped close a deal. How many successful companies do you know where the CTO isn't even an employee?
love that guy. style and fame, he shall be the last man on titanic once all tables are moved in attempt to save the night
Teradata has had no new product innovation in 40 years, except for incremental improvements to its core database product. To compensate, it attempted a slew of failed acquisitions, e.g. Aprimo, Aster, did did not “ click” with the client base. Isn’t the job of the CTO to lead in the development of new products that add value to customer businesses rather than extolling the virtues of a 40 year old technology?
Brobst who? Oh, you mean the guy who's busy hunting for the next burning man event, and hanging out with all his 20yr old girlfriends, and then coming back into TD and telling us all about it complete with pictures? How he still has a job, after a slide show s-xualizing women, and bragging about it as some BS inclusiveness is beyond me. Of all the ELT members, he's easily the most no-brainer fire out there. Which is saying a TON given Hillary, Dan, and Kathy's sub-par performances.
