Thread regarding Occidental Petroleum Corp. layoffs

Thank you VH for keeping us safe!

Credit is due, VH wants to keep her employees safe and for that I commend her extending the WFH option.

Are you on medication and you missed a dose?

or more likely are you HR trying to spin VH into a saint

She needs to go and go now

Thank you Vicki for keeping us safe in these uncertain and crazy times, Due to politics , etc we are NOT getting the whole story, adequate information on COVID, cases still mount, young people are dying, we must wear masks to decrease transmissions and get this virus to die out. We really appreciate the decision to stay WFH till mid January 2021. Certainly keeps OXY’s health care costs lower than if we all returned and a lot of people got sick, etc.

Yeah, because every Oxy employee has the option to work from home right? Wait, there are those that have to keep this dumpster fire from looming oblivion. Those that have to report to work every day to make the cash that pays all of those comfortably working from home. How about all of those middle managers? Assets that are overloaded with OTLs raking in cash while making all the difficult decisions from their easy chairs, like which OTL is going to send the weekend work schedule out by email?

And now she can do the next smart thing and resign.

I’m planning to do nothing at home now that I heard this news. I want to show management how ineffective it can be!
They deserve it and the extension of the WFH is all about costs
VH doesn't give a sh– about anyone except herself

That $11/share price is miserable. Looking back at my Oxy LTI, it all just seems like chump change.

So it sounds like lay-off.com posts are very influential on Oxy policy. If true that shows the lack of decision making present with the company.

That’s nice and a good decision. Now 50% of the upstream needs to get a severance package to relieve the bloat in that organization that has not ever been addressed.

Correction. The shareholders did not agree to the acquisition.

Exactly. VH is inky sealing her fate of getting fired. Truth is Oxy needs to shed half of its employees and do something to gain the trust of the SHAREHOLDERS! Companies don’t owe you anything as an employee but to pay you for hours worked. The shareholders are sick of loosing money on this fat bloated cow POS company ! Grow some and get this company back to profitability!

WHY don’t they give something back to the shareholders like growth and dividends. They should be giving pink slips out to the employees not WFH.

Literally every large company is doing this...I don't get why you're kissing VH's a** for following the lead of literally every other company with mostly "white collar" office workers.

New Communication from VH states WFH extended at least till Mid-January. Big shout out to VH for keeping us safe. They are certainly wanting to gain back employee confidence in the company. having pre-existing conditions I do appreciate this from Oxy.

No lie. Everybody gets on here and bashes before they hear anything when we were told it would be the end of the month. Just a bunch of whinners that are turning into full-time complainers. At some point people you have to give credit to the company.
