There are so many messed up things about this whole situation! Not the least of which is that I (still) haven't received any details in writing. The general public knows more about the "generous" severance package than I do based on several media articles. I even received messages from friends (who clearly have not worked forthe firm) saying "at least RJ is going to take care of you"....REALLY?!?! BASED ON WHAT?!?!
The least they could have done is have the information ready. I received my cryptic meeting invite on Monday afternoon, had "the conversation" on Tuesday at 8, and now it is Thursday and I still do not have any details. Why would they put us through this type of anxiety for days on end on top of everything else?
I have worked for the firm for over a decade and gave them my all. I am heartbroken by the way I have been treated. Shame on Paul for letting it go down this way.
I have been laid off once before, so I understand the business side of it...BUT I also know that it can be handled in a way that treats people with more dignity and respect.
I guess I just have to continue to wait in anguish for the details...
