any news on Digital Factory restructure, layoffs?
Hahaha ... bp’s poison pill is its incompetence, DWH liabilities and debt ratio. No on wants to buy bp.
That is intriguing that BP could be taken over. The odds increase as share price continue to decrease.
But whoever is considering will have to adsorb the debt that BP is in. I'm not sure that another company would touch BP because of the oil spill.
BP will merge with another oil company. The lowest I’ve seen Amoco/Bp stock is $9. What a incompetent company. Never rebounded from deep water Horizon
If you think bp is done selling you are in for a rude awakening. Bernard has been very clear about it.
Well that does make a lot of sense. For the cost of US employee you can get three in the UK.
60% of US employees will be let go
Sorry “They will sell” but we’ve already done that with most all of our assets fitting that description.
They will sell some high cost/low profit refining and production to have cash for green energy acquisitions. They need to keep the most profitable refineries and oil fields to bankroll and float the low profit/low carbon business. This will make quarterly earnings look better. Then all of the money made from the traditional oil business will be taken and invested in wind, solar, hydrogen and technology.
Hope they retain as many people as possible. Feel really upset how many great people EOI-ing. But it is finally time to pull the band aid. Good luck to everyone
For those who remain, I think it is prudent to look for other opportunities immediately. This is risky water that BP will be sailing. I would bet that they'll look to unload what's left of their refineries and other assets. They could go through another round in 2021. My second year of working for Amoco, we went through two rounds. It was totally demoralizing.
More PR and statements about how the leadership team is excited because they have jobs
BP will partner with or buy a computing company that promises to help large customers (countries, cities and large corporations) manage their energy use for greater efficiency
Fewer employees
Even lower morale
Lower share price
More uncertainty around dividend
More hot air PR and townhalls that gaslight you
