When you give a 2 week notice does Broadcom typically walk you out that day and pay you two weeks or do they typically have you work the 2 weeks? Trying to plan new start date.
Does the healthcare insurance coverage go to the end of the month or does it end after the last day of the two week notice?
Health Insurance is active until midnight of the last day of the month unless the employee uses COBRA to continue coverage
Depends on 1. your boss 2. how much knowledge do you have that needs to be passed down.
2 weeks notice is the customary norm but if you have a good relationship with your boss it's probably good to give a little more notice if you can - particularly if you have knowledge or skills that have to be handed down to someone else.
I would guess that right now Broadcom isn't going to want to play hardball over a few days health coverage. I think right now Broadcom's legal is probably losing sleep worrying about potential COVID19 litigation and wouldn't want to deal with any fights over a few days of health insurance. Just my guess
It depends on several factors, where you are going, what group. I have seen people walked out immediately if they go to a competitor. Health insurance ends at the end of each month. If you give notice after the 15th of the month, they may just end things before the end of the month to save money. Ask your new employer for flexibility in start date and confirm when insurance starts. There are a lot of layoffs going around so I would wait until layoffs clear in your BU to give notice.
you need exit interview to turn in your badge/laptop to formally conclude your employment with broadcom.
