So if you left, shut your pie hole. This has nothing to do with you then, genius
Never been laid off before and left Boeing before sh– hit the fan so no buddy I don’t know what a stupid accelerated layoff is and you are not smarter than anybody else for knowing what it is either.
If you were so smart, you would have left long time ago.
To the OP, dude it’s a freaking ILO, as long as you are not getting fired for cause or resigning, you don’t need to repay one cent.
@ ex Boeing Guy:
You obviously “don’t know what the hell an accelerated layoff is” . It’s when you get an ILO ( involuntary layoff ) & instead waiting your 60 days until your last day, you can, upon approval, take what is known as an “accelerated layoff”.... as in, you go out the door sooner. As others here posted, it is subject to management scrutiny & approval ( based on business needs; they have been known to deny ) but it is usually approved & the recipient can fast-track their layoff & move on. That’s “what the hell an accelerated layoff is” ex Boeing Guy 😉
"Please enlighten me genius, what the heck is an accelerated layoff?"
The answer is in the very post that you're questioning. And they only answered the question that was asked not a bunch of unrelated things that they didn't understand, because they didn't reply to something they didn't understand, they replied to something they knew full well about.
Please enlighten me genius, what the heck is an accelerated layoff?
It’s either an ILO (with or without cause), a VLO offer or a resignation.
I posted answers for each scenario since I have no clue what the hell is an accelerated layoff
Not sure why someone would post a long drawn-out post, when they don't understand what you were asking. As I understand it an accelerated lay-off is approved or denied by your shift manager based on their business need, and doesn't change any other aspect of the involuntary layoff. I have the understanding that because it is an involuntary layoff, you will not be responsible for relocation benefits paid to you.
Accelerated what?? Are you being let go (involuntary layoff), are you taking a voluntary layoff or are you resigning?
If they fire (ILO) you without cause typically you don’t need to pay relocation. If they fire you for cause then you typically need to pay relo.
If you are taking a voluntary layoff offer then your offer should state whether your pay relo or not.
Last but not least if you are resigning before your first anniversary then you will have to pay. Check your employment offer
Less than year don’t get VLO offer.

Boeing is just getting rid of the Big Rocks now
Then the little rocks next the pebbles then the sand
All that’s to be left is ashes and dust
No it doesn't change anything. I am doing the same
