NEW YORK (Reuters) - U.S. shale producer Devon Energy Corp is in talks to acquire rival WPX Energy Inc in an all-stock transaction that would create a company worth around $6 billion, people familiar with the matter said on Saturday.
Heard it, but don’t believe it.

So, brilliant strategist in the executive suite, you had no plan for the company if oil and NG prices fell? Exactly what do you think we pay you to do? Boost morale by cracking inane jokes at town halls? Maybe you don't think about anything but checking of your net worth at the end of the day and running out the clock. Maybe a speech at a financial conference when you feel like getting out of town. Ever wonder if you had made a few more speeches before the stock buybacks you would have saved Devon a lot of money? And you ineffectual board members: look up "strategy" and see if you can figure out what it means. If you can digest that, review your job description, because it's a paid position, not an honorarium.
At least chk can survive because the bankruptcy gets rid of huge debt and terrible AKM business moves. This dumpster fire POS sh– company has no plan to survive. Just continue to sink. Seems we’re more like sandridge! lol Won’t be long til this skysc-aper will be a ghost town with 10 people total in it. And of course they will all be in HR management.

I figure it’ll be in Q1 of 2021 to help please our fickle shareholders with another special dividend because we must maintain shareholder value above all else.
I remember the good old days when all I had to worry about was the bathroom being closed for the 5th time that day for cleaning and a rusty blade from wide track being plunged deep between my shoulder blades.
I don't want to start stressing over something that might turn out to not be true.
