Yes, there'll be layoffs soon, probably before the end of the month but it has not started today. If it was really a layoffs day, we would have heard by now - whoever's been here for the past few rounds knows this. If anybody has some real layoffs info, please share. Otherwise, relax and enjoy at least a few more days of safety.

Unfortunately, the workers always take the fall for bad management decisions.
When the HR people came over to our office in 2013 to hand us our envelope, they were escorted by armed guards. It happened to those of us let go in 2013. I guess they are afraid someone might go postal.

Coronaviruspositive has the most realistic post on this thread and also closely aligns to what I'm hearing... although it may be longer than 10-15 days. Nearly 1000 laid off in the next 2-3 months.

My source says that they need to first announce liquidation of Midcon and Wyoming, then let go the associated 300+ people, and then continue with another 200+.

Nothing has happened yet but it won’t be as bad, like most people think.
That makes no sense why they would have us work from home on Friday! When they do it will probably be the same way they did it in April. HR will call each person since we cannot meet in a conference room.

It’s happening Friday. They will tell us on Thursday to work from home on Friday.
Typically you would receive an email by 8:45 to tell you to go to a conference room. With COVID, not sure the new process.
