It appears the rumor mill is saying more layoffs in mid October 2020. Very upsetting news considering the number of newly appointed executives just announced. I find this very insulting considering the number of employees, especially the exempt ones that have been working more hours since April with a reduced salary and no merit increases. I have heard these sentiments from every Cummins employee that has seen the most recent list of executives being promoted. I mean no disrespect to those promoted. I am sure they have worked hard to get to where they are. I almost wish I did not know about it so I would not be disappointed with the lack of sensitivity and consideration this shows to those of us that have been sacrificing to keep our jobs.

People are saying that Cummins "highly compensates" its salaried workforce which is a joke. I got nuked in the December 2015 layoffs (I am an engineer) and I am now making 31.4 percent more than Cummins was paying me after 16 years of dedicated service. Bail on your terms if you can.
Cummins has been outsourcing American jobs, to in-house Indian company HCL for over 15 years.
Non-citizens both hiring and firing Americans. We put our kids thru college, only to answer to a non-citizen, as they watch their parents downsized and replaced by non-citizens.
That rumor has made it as far as the distributors now. More layoffs, hopefully not more branch closures.
Oh but they were hiring. Even in departments where people were getting fired during those RIFs. Stop drinking the Cummins kool-aid. Went through 5 RIFs and they were hiring in each one. They just didn’t announce it.
I totally agree, they where posting for jobs right before the RIF's and also during the time they where RIF people in dept.. Them posting jobs don't mean anything, except that it "shows" that they are "hiring" when in fact they aren't.
My point is 10 jobs a day is Nott same as 3 posts a day. 10 > 3 if you haven't figure I out. You're welcome
They were posting job openings right up to the day the last 3 RIF rounds started as well. What's your point?
Layoff rumours are for sure not true when they are posting 10 jobs a day
I heard they are going to discontinue the every 5 year milestone pins and start handing out pins with number of layoffs you survived.
Rumour is there is even a secret code name for this round of cuts. Is this high school? Can’t wait to land a job somewhere else.
This might be toboo comment but... a lot of these promotions seem political and “current event” driven. Not saying the folks being promoted are not highly qualified professionals But look at org charts for various departments and notice how they are changing. Not all white guys. Still all White males right at the top. Good or bad to you but it is changing. Has nothing to do woth business needs or how much they get paid vs how you got cut 20% and still have to get 150% of the work done in 4 days a week. Just image for the world and the shareholder and someone’s agenda.
People can leave at will . The question is, when will a company such as Cummins that was built on valuing its employees, see how they have deviated from their history. Employees can and are leaving, except many of those employees have bled Cummins colors for decades. Those employees have been shown over and over for the past 2 decades that they are only a number, an asset that can be decommissioned and replaced at any time the company wishes to..
Tell me if I'm wrong. It's not a binding contract especially if you are exempt.thats what employment at free will is. You are not obligated to stay and so they are not obligated to keep you as well. Even if it's on contract based you can leave once contract is up. Sad but true because people are either too comfortable or don't have the skillsets to leave.
Not complaining since they paying well. People complain because they can't leave with the skillsets they have.
I absolutely love these executive promotions by Tom and it’s A-team. The sheer brilliance in timing when majority of workforce undergoing paycuts, the CLT thought that company cannot be ran without promoting/having a VP for compensation and benefits. Bravo!!
Hmm seems like its fake news. Don't think there is going to be a RIF
Is anyone going to confirm if there is a RIF.
Which areas do you think they will cut?
DBU was cut really deep last time, I hear constant complaints from customers about how c-ap we have become to work with.
Are other divisions feeling the same pain?
So are we expecting it before the new year or Q1 next year
Does anyone believe that Cummins Management(no such thing as Leadership in Cummins) actually cut work hours for salaried individuals, while cutting salaries? If you do, you needs to get a d–g test. In most cases many of us were still expected to work our standard hours, plus more. There was no reduction in time to go along with the reduction in pay. Some of us had enough and moved on after almost two decades of giving all we could to the company. Never believe the press releases that come from Cummins, you are only a number and will always be treated as one.
It makes sense, end of the 4th quarter and what not. I tell you it makes so much sense to them to do this. They see how long their workers in the exempt ranks have been working from home. And in their mind they are seeing how much work can we lay off to India or China from each dept. to work remotely. So if you have a staff of 8 you could see at least a loss of 4 people.
Politics. Cummins is highly political. The good ol boy network. I witnessed people promoted to both Management and Executive Level, based solely on who they knew, and circles they ran, not on their merit at all. Many others far outperformed, but never recognized.
There should not be any promotions at the executive level if employees are taking pay cuts and no merit. Very disrespectful to the worker bees. Leaders should understand that and not expect that during these times. I wouldn’t, but hey, I was a high pot decade female manager let go during one of the usual RIFs because my manager had no backbone to support me and saved his butt in the good old boys network.
I was laid off in June due to COVID-19 . Good luck to everyone still working.
Is there rumour a RIF will happen in Oct?
