More furloughs for Measurement solutions

October brings a new wave of furloughs for Measurement Solutions. I suppose it's better than the layoffs I'd expected in Q1, though I suppose that's still a possibility.

Executives and field sales get to take their furlough in Q1 holiday weeks.

LK made it very clear on the last board meeting that the businesses that are not generating Q over Q profit improvement will have to cut SG&A to achive this. I hope for all employees that the market will recover soon!

Gotta keep increasing that dividend! You know we have been doing this since 1956!

Not surprised, but I like how Emerson stated for August furloughs there wouldn’t be additional furloughs and yet here we are. I wouldn’t be surprised if they add Nov/Dec furloughs to us, but exclude execs/field sales in those rounds like they did in the first two. We shall see. Emerson is slowly going to lose employees one way or another, as they cannot survive on 3 weeks of furlough when the cares act ran out money (at least it did for our state) and people will be forced to find a different employer. Maybe if they quit buying companies and reduce high up execs to actual realistic salaries then maybe these furloughs wouldn’t be necessary.

We got the email the morning. All salaried employees get 1 week of furloughs in the month of Oct executives and field sales are also included this time, but they get to choose thanksgiving week or Christmas week. Guess you could read into that, no Nov or Dec furloughs.
That makes 3 weeks of furlough total this year for myself. Measurement solutions group.
