2nd Round of Voluntary Layoffs (VLOs)

TBC offered both SPEEA-represented and IAM-represented members a Second Voluntary Layoff Offer.

FAR FEWER APPLICANTS APPLIED FOR THE 2ND VLO, than the 1st VLO offered back at the end of May 2020. Boeing will notify the few VLO applicants on Sept. 16 if they have been accepted or denied.

Involuntary Layoffs (ILOs) ARE STILL SCHEDULED
(with no change on implementation plans).

60-day Advance Notice of WARN's given to Boeing Employees on:
09/18/20 w/ last day on 11/20/20
10/16/20 w/ last day on 12/18/20

Talent Review Meetings by 1st & 2nd Level managers are done 2-weeks prior.
Your 1st level will notify you 2-3 days prior.

Bain company has been in Boeing and they don't come in to build a company but to reorg it radically.

Boeing To Exit The Commercial Aircraft Space Market

The factors leading to the downfall of Boeing are owing to competition and the
subsequent drop in the sales of its aircrafts. Boeing cannot meet its breakeven
point by the end of this decade or the next.
There is simply no business case to be made moving forward.

Boeing’s mismanagement of this market segment has left the commercial
aviation market in this country a shambles and will have a profoundly negative
ripple effect throughout the entire U.S. economy for years to come.

Government sources say they are actively looking for a management team to
take BCA into receivership and re-organize this segment of Boeing
