Thread regarding SeaWorld Entertainment Inc. layoffs

What’s the alternative?

No matter what SW puts us through we are going to survive this. Being on furlough is difficult especially when you can’t see an end to this pandemic and its repercussions. Some of us have saved in anticipation of an emergency while others may not be so lucky. I have been actively looking for other employment while hoping for a severance package but facts are facts - jobs are scarce. If I am fortunate enough to land another job great, if not I’ll keep on trying because SW doesn’t care about us - only the bottom line.

Anything is better than the peice of c-ap that you are leaving behind this company offers no respect. Anything you can do to better yourself. Use this time to review and think about you anything would be less stress than this mismanaged company.

Is it true that max severance is 4 weeks? Unreal.

I found a job in a sector of the economy that is essential. Actually, I don't look at it as a "job", but a new career. The company has been around for 100 years, no Board of Directors, not management top heavy and the employees own the company. We are given company stock every time we get paid. Keep your head up and best of luck to you.
