Thread regarding Sears layoffs

A&E MEMBER EXPERIENCE (actual transcript from a recording on the new Amazon phone system)

A&E REP...... "Hello, I'm calling from SEARS / A&E to inform you that our technician won't be out today to repair your refrigerator because he called out sick again, or his van broke down, or he had a family emergency, or he overslept, or his TM screwed up his vacation time again and gave him a route when he was supposed to be off, or he has to take a d–g test due to a work related vehicle accident or he needs to go to emergency care for a work related injury, or.. or.. well... well WHATEVER!! He's just freakin' not coming today!" NO OPTIONS!!!

MEMBER..... ''ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? I TOOK THE DAY OFF OF WORK FOR THIS. I HAVE AN MPA! I'VE BEEN WAITING THREE WEEKS TO GET THIS REFRIGERATOR FIXED!! I PAID ALOT OF MONEY FOR THIS THING, AND I EXPECT IT TO BE REPAIRED TODAY. YOU BETTER GET ANOTHER TECH HERE TODAY, THIS AFTERNOON!

A&E REP..... "I apologize for the inconvenience. There are no other techs in your area today. Would you like to reschedule?"

MEMBER..... "I guess I don't have a choice, DO I?? When can the technician come out again?" (Expecting to hear 'tomorrow')

A&E REP.... "Let me see..... (typing noises).. The earliest date I have available is another three weeks from now."

MEMBER.... Cussing, swearing, and verbally belittling the rep until the rep disconnects the call because the member swore at him / her.

YAY!!! All from working from home. And rinse and repeat. Over and over and over and over again. EACH. AND. EVERY. DAY!

Shut it down. NOW!!

Simple fact is ......you sell and sell some more until the cows come home or you will be targered for termination..the tepair has become a after though...TMs are out of touch and out to lunch..to busy tracking your every move and looking at your daily /monthly sales totals! Got out after 14 years couldnt take it any more! If your a rural Tech your at a disadvantage to make your numbers...youll soon be out of a job! No quarter will be given to you!

1000 miles is stretching the truth. A normal rural rote is 125 to 350 mi with 7-12 stops. No pay for the first 35 minutes to the first call and the last 35 minutes after the last call. A tech could be sent to neighbors on a street as the first and tenth call of the day that's just how dumb it has become.not enough drive time given between calls in other words if you need 20 minutes to get there you are given 15.No time given to put parts away or return parts to a ups location,no time to clean van or take breaks. If you are lucky you will be allotted 30 min to repair the appliance and 15 min to do a maintenance check. If you get hung up on a job there is no one to cover the backed up calls so you will be working late guaranteed.Upper management is totally detached from the techs in the field.Tech managers are now sales mangers and technical support is gone.No training and no cost of living raise in 8 years. Other than that, things are going well :)

One thousand mile route in a day? That's a conventional oil change every three days, unless they're running synthetic in the vans, which I doubt.

No other *tech, because there's only one to serve the entire region, and his van has 200,000 miles on it, parts aren't available, and the member is the the 15th stop on a thousand mile route, plus he has COVID.

The only one to blame in all of this is the person calling for service or shopping the store. If there is still people that don't know this place is a she-it show then Ed is correct. shut up do your job and make Ed some money.
