Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Husqvarna by the ton!

Anybody else get a couple truckloads worth of Husqvarna in this week?

We got riding mowers, leaf blowers, chainsaws etc. most I’ve seen since the BK

Husqvarna does make Mowers and tractors for Craftsman. If the Craftsman model number begins with 917 it is made by Husqvarna. If model number begins with 247 it is made by MTD. The original Manufacturer was Roper who was acquired by Electrolux who moved the plant to Orangeburg SC. Electrolux was then bought by Husqvarna and the L&G division’s name was changed to American Yard Products (AYP). Later the AYP name was changed to Huqvarna Group. Most experienced lawn and garden techs knows this. Sadly, Sears owned the Lawn and garden tractor market but failed to react to the competition....a familiar story for sure. Transformco is picking at the carcass and it won't be long till the company is just a memory. Sad for sure.

Liquidators still have stock leftover from years ago.

Its simple. Tons of places closed or went bankrupt due to COVID. Sales were down so Husqvarna has leftover product. Eddie has to appease his few hundred hometown owners. So to get a couple dozen truckloads of this stuff probably cost a few million bucks at fire sale prices. Now when lawsuits hit the courts it'll be "oh I tried, I tried..
look I ordered trucks of Husqvarna riding mowers! It was late 2020! You can't say I didn't try!"

Husqvarna has never made mowers/tractors,all AYP built and sold alongside Craftsman. The only thing thing made in Sweden were the high end chainsaws.

I was a LG tech and I have a 2012 Husqvarna tractor with a Kawasaki engine that was ordered, they weren't store stock but Kohler/Briggs powered units were.

None of this matters anymore.F Sears and A–hole Eddie.

Hey sears website master.

Just like Halloween stuff its 3rd party sales and just a few good items. Most is parts so it is a result of liquidation?..

Just a quick search of the Sears website shows this brand being sold directly by Sears so I not sure why the mo–ns with no brain are attacking the poster. It's clearly stock being shifted out of the warehouse but only some equally mo–nic person at HE knows why they are sending it out now, maybe as someone had said it's because the store will be liquidated soon.

Try using your brains you keyboard warriors before jumping on the people providing information.

I mean lawn and garden season is over so it makes perfect sense to stock the stores. Yes, people already have lawn mowers and such so it’s good to be prepared for next year! Not!!! Anyone who had worked for sears within the last year knows this is a troll post.

High end Husqvarna is made by them, the lower end stuff is made by MTD, same as Craftsman. A lot of parts are interchangeable.

Sears sold Husqvarna in the 2000s. It was small assortment, but considered to be premium. There were a couple of tractors, a chainsaw and one of the first backup blowers I had seen. At the other end of the spectrum, we had an entry level Lawn Boy that young people would by at the beginning of the season to mow lawns as a summer job - it retailed for just over $100.

I thought sears/Kmart was getting out of the lawn and garden business? Wasn’t it posted months ago that sears exited L&G?

What Husqvarna Products has Sears sold in the past or were they branded as Craftsman? When I worked in Hoffman Estates in the 2000s there was a Husqvarna field office across the street from corporate.

Well OP it could be liquidation but I don’t recall us selling Husqvarna ever but I see it is available on the website. Interesting.

I remember working for kmart. We would get a ton of stuff in before liquidation. Buyers would get a good deal and send stuff to closing stores to sell through quick
