What does everyone expect when the dividend was cut. There is no growth as long as oil prices remain low, WB gets his cut, and the near term debt is a concern. There are much better places to put money that pay 5-7 % dividends. Investors and employees that got caught holding this stock when it turned sour learned a hard lesson.

100% there is a replacement waiting in the wings. It may not be s-xy or conventional but there is one ready. The problem is exactly what the poster below mentions. This won't move the needle of our stock at the moment when everyone is going through the same thing. When prices start to rise, look for us to get a boost by this change. Even if small, they (BoD) will take advantage of the uptick to ride the momentum up a bit further... even if its just to let Ichan or others take a bit of a profit out. Please remember Buffet has little to no say on the board as its the cronies from Ichan that were added and then the old BoD. So it will be to get ichan and his friends a profit first and he bought in low (at $9ish).

I really think there is something going on in the background we just don't know about. There is no way the institutional stockholders are not calling up Chazen and other board members. Throw in Icahn and this is just a huge mess. I just feel like as the stock keeps dropping someone out there will be able to take the debt on, and Oxy will be bought. Another reason is all oil stocks are down and maybe during the virus they just figure why cut the executives while all of that is going on. We would not see a jump in the oil prices no matter who is the CEO, so VH is just the caretaker for now.
