Thread regarding Boeing Co. layoffs

Respect

Respect?
I realize this is a naive question for an anonymous forum, but couldn't we all be a bit more kind and respectful on this forum?

I've been reading through the posts today to understand what's happening, and I've been shocked with how mean spirited some of the posts have been. The tone and content of many posts are just mean.

Everyone impacted by these layoffs is a fellow human being with their own stories, families, challenges, aspirations, strengths and imperfections.

This seems to be a good forum to learn about what's happening and prepare ourselves, but it's saddening to be reading through and then just smacked in the face with some of these mean-spirited posts.

LOL!! I've come to realize that one cannot expect to recieve too much respect in a place where snakes, rats and cowards thrive. To me mutual respect is now in the land of make believe. Just like the other phrase treat others the way you want to be treated. If you do that you are considered weak. America is not the same America these days. All those values are out the window. Respect these days only means survival of the most devious. Respect comes with trust. How many at Boeing would you be comfortable leaving your child around?? Without any judgement or otherwise??? Case closed. Now can we get back to layoffs.

Respect!!!
Sure we should be every bit as Respectful to Boeing
As Boeing was so Respectful to the
The Flying Public, the Airlines, the Shareholders and the FAA
And the Whistleblowers that called them out for putting
Profit Before Lives!!!

You said it exactly, everyone is different. They react differently. There are many who are unprepared for a layoff. Many who live way beyond their means. These people are scared. That fear in some manifests in snarky and mean comments. Its something they can control. If they are scared, you should be too, so they spread fear.

Some would have you believe that the people posting these types of comments don't work for Boeing. I agree, there are some that don't and come here to stir sh–. But I doubt it is that many. Most people who post here are Boeing employees or recently separated. This is a thought process that is rather recent. Just like in politics, if you dont agree with a position its either fake news or you are some sort of "ist". If you dont like the comment here, the commenter must not work for Boeing.

The fact is people react to life altering news in different ways.

Those who do post what looks like actual info get respect, the rest are trash who don’t really work there.
