Thread regarding NCR Corp. layoffs

Week of Aug 17th just the first round

Key people still on the inside say there's more to come. Discussions taking place now. Best guess is before Nov 1st so NCR doesnt have to pay the match on 401ks. Maybe they'll smarten up and realize there are too many redundant managers with too few FTEs especially in IT that need to go vs k–ling off worker bees. Start there NCR and leave the customer facing and revenue generating groups alone.

I was made aware of several people back in August and more yesterday. Some of them New England area most other CEs were NYC area. A lot of really good experienced people RIFd which is a shame. This pandemic needs to go away hurting Retail worse than it was already hurting.

"Get it get experience and get out" – even better, just don't get in. The experience is not a good one.

NCR needs to consolidate management. Too many non customer facing manager titles with few to no workers. Overhead that doesnt contribute to the bottom line.

I believe it. That’s why level 2 was abandoned. Level 2 was created to assist the field engineers in the 70s. They were also funded by the field offices. In 2000 something they cut the funding. What ended up was upper management was looking at the pot of gold being paying to fund that group. Eventually in 2016 they chop them because it was a non revenue generating group. They put a plan to have a knowledge base made so the field can access it in their device and was supposedly creating a ce3 position to take the calls. Not sure if ce3s actually happened but I’m know Serbia uses it. And they also stated most level2 would be rotated out to be ce3. That never happen. Why? Because they lied.

Post ID: @1bud+16KB6RhG, if that’s true and you have some email or paper saying so you have some power to your advantage. I say save and print those for future reference. I knew someone who work there and in late their late fifties, had those type of documents save and printed. When his time was up due to a rif they were used against hr that legal action will be taken if they let him go. As he would pursue legal options. Needless to say they gave him a chair and a desk and some work to do till he retired a few years later.

I've heard through a particular dept that the upper echelon is appalled at what people are making and will address that. The easy layoffs are over. The next wave will consist of high salaries and just the right mix of old timers not to draw criticism or suspicion to what they're doing. Covid is the perfect excuse for a purge.

It’s true. I work in management and can confirm that it’s in process. Pay grades and levels are being assessed for another wave.
