Thread regarding General Atomics layoffs

Some great company- top rate management (Not)

It is sad. GA is not giving the Government value, to say the least. In todays news are reasons for more layoffs in GAs other division.

USS Gerald R. Ford (CVN-78) returned to port Sunday after its latest at-sea testing period with mixed results. While the carrier operated with the most complex air wing to date, the ship’s Electromagnetic Aircraft Launch System (EMALS) suffered a failure that prevented the carrier from launching planes for five days, the Navy announced in a Sunday statement.

Exactly. Too many family/ friends being hired and incompetent people not ever being let go. Management is horrible and their purpose is to try and bust people, not develop them. There’s a few manager who rule the roost and love the brown nosers. This is what’s going to keep the company from truly excelling.

If you understand the culture at GA you can understand why stuff like that happens. Those in middle management made a fatal decision to retain the bad/kiss a– workers company wide. Those in poway made a big mistake in giving Lower management the job to let go people. In my department there was a guy with the company 22 years and all he did was sit at his desk and do nothing but watch YouTube he’s still with the company. All the talented engineers were feared bc they were brilliant and the future! Who wants to work for a company that lets the movers and the shakers go!!! I have an interview with NG only after a few days out of work way better company to work for!!!
