Thread regarding General Atomics layoffs

Horrible management, target based layoff.

In my department people who tried to better the product from excelent MEs to TOP TECHS were laid off due to retaliation from the "Manager/director" who had her foot on the throat of most employees, specially the supervisors. I know they are doing their best to help the employees reach the companies goals, they keep getting shut down from her but every success from the department she likes to take all the credit and wear the medals, they dont want to invest on anything that takes from their bonuses. Earlier this year more than 20 people quit because of the horrible management.

Ps. Dont sign that package untill you talk to a lawyer. They want to waive your right to sue and that is very fishy.

I complained about a supervisor harassing me numerous times. I have a medical disability and they still didn’t do anything to fix the issue of her harassing me. I also complained about a person who is drunk at work everyday and makes the work place unsafe for us and his self and nothing was done and he also used a racial slur towards me and also nothing was done HR basically promoted the person instead of firing the person. People who have family who worked there for a long time get treated a lot better then other employees who actually work hard.

Yes I agree!! Mgnt needs a huge lay off as well and get managers in their that actually care about people’s career paths and not their agendas and bonuses.. I noticed no mgrs were laid off in this grp and to be rehiring right after is an lawsuit waiting to happen!!
Don’t sign pkg without seeking a lawyer!! I did and was told not to sign due to you give up all rights to sue them and you can’t be rehired!!
Look for jobs in the GA side as they don’t lay off, their work doesn’t rely on drones!!

i was one of the one's laidoff last week, i thought my standing with the company was good because i was never written up and had a few years with the company. i just didn't fit into the good ole boy culture there. I guess my only thing about me is having a learning disability that made me a bit socially awkward :|but despite my disability i worked hard and got good reviews from my supervisors. He always told me i was doing everything i needed to be doing to succeed at General Atomics. its Ironic that the ones management choose to retain are in the processes of leaving the company, Some are leaving because lack of deployments and others are trying to get away from California. They laid off many California natives and choose to keep those who want to go back to their home states! To be honest i enjoyed working for GA everything aligned with my career goals. Im thankful that i was a good employee with lots of integrity, i only hope i can get hired with a new company just seems like it will be a challenge during this pandemic.

Keep in mind if yuki are over 40 you have rights. Been there 10 plus years you had a good wage and pension. Who will hire you for close to what you were making? Think about it.

Leadership has 2 blind eyes. Want to hear from the so called experts on the floor but they don't listen. I had issues and tried the employee handbook to use in my case. The section I used was deleted within a month.

This company is riddled with nepotism, polictics, and favoritism. Supervisors are not leaders and and major re-vamp is needed in management.
