i Know 8 people in my district that applied and all have had interviews. So far not one has been contacted or offered a job yet. Feedback from interviews has been pretty consistent. Very informal interviews from emotionless interviewers. Most said it felt like they were just going through the motions and it didn’t sound like the interviewer was actually making the decision to hire. Expect a question and answer format with little time for talking about your experience, accomplishments and accolades. When you come out of a job interview and you don’t know how the interview went then it wasn’t actually an interview at all. I’m told It sounded like a Q&A to see if you met WFH qualifications. What did anyone expect with 3K applicants to interview in a short time frame.

I applied I was interviewed which was a very robotic interview.

I was informed in the interview there's a 90-day training?!?

Unfortunately my gut is saying it's going to be a classic bait-and-switch they're going to get all these people doing telesales and then all the sudden the commission's going to be gutted just like they did in retail.

I’m a GM and I regret not applying after finding out how much a telesales sup makes. If another round of jobs come up I’m going for sure.

Even post covid I think the shift to online shopping is real. I’m not one of those nuts who think retail is going away, I do think we’re gonna shift away from sales and be more customer service folks instead of sales. Where in telesales literally every transaction is a sales transactions.

From what I gather there are thousands of reps applying for telesales. I don’t know how many openings are available but I do think they wouldn’t be doing this major hiring unless it was for several hundred spots. The need definitely seems very short term or until the pandemic disappears. Then what ? Looks like this is Verizon’s first phase of thinning out full time reps in the retail stores. BTW I was surprised to learn how many customers actually call in to order things ( even before pandemic). I thought most order online or went into the stores. To me calling in and ordering with a person is like still wanting to shop from a Sears catalog.
