This makes total sense to me now. My team (not IT) got laid off 6 months ago and I still have P66’s laptop. Not only did I email the point of contact to rerun the laptop, but in the months that have passed, I also contacted the temp agency on several occasions . The temp agency has had no luck getting a response from them either. For a company that’s all about safety, they surely don’t care that a past employee has their things.

Many contractors in the IT org have been given notice, and employees shifted around to fill the void. The Service Desk for years has retained contractor staffing and now they are slated to be fully outsourced to a managed provider, along with local support staffing.

Service desk is being outsourced. Most IT contractors were let go in July. It's only a matter of time before they start with the rest of IT.
