Way too much redundancy at that company - this has been a long time coming.

Especially in the strategy and operations groups. You had Sr. Directors reporting to other Sr. Directors with massive title inflation and people getting promoted every year just for doing their job.

Ohana is a joke - the execs are running a company and they care about 2 things, ACV growth and getting a little more efficient every year to hit their margin targets.

“Reshaping Exercise”

The all hands call was a joke. They talked about how hard it was to make this decision and how much work and effort went into ensuring that there was a workforce available to respond to all the employees they f—ed over.

Like maybe , I dunno use that money to keep the workforce and retrain them to work in those areas they want to focus?

7 employees from the Spokane, Washington office were affected. This coming about 6 weeks after learning that the office there was shutting down permanently.

Regional all hands is just as dissonant. They tried to paint a rosy picture of growth to give hope, what we heard is there will be more changes coming. The comms is so poorly executed.

Talk about emotionless delivery from Bret Taylor! You don’t need technology to know that he was reading off the script, especially every time he paused and looked away from the camera.

What a load of

CEO addressing the press and that’s why his ELT is leading the conversation. Goes against the opposite of leadership qualities they pride themselves over.

My favorite part was Jodi saying at the end something to the effect of "and that's why I love working at Salesforce". Read! The! Room!!

That All Hands call was so infuriating. So, so tone deaf to discuss record earnings in the same breath as making tough decisions to let people go, only to go invest hard in other areas. So much self-congratulations for all the hard work that went around to prepare for this layoff. Our whole team just got cut, and we’ve done a lot of work for so many of the leaders on that call. Hard not to feel embittered and traumatized by that call and this whole experience. I was ok yesterday but now I’m just furious.

I hope they don't cut the snack budget for when we get back into the office.

How much money could Salesforce save by culling half of that bullsh** Executive Leadership team? Most of those positions are made up and staffed by unqualified do-nothings.

It was a circle jerk with execs praising each other for all the strength they had to demonstrate as they were making 'difficult decisions'.

My team was supporting Social Studio (for both Premier and Signature Support) out of Fredericton and our team was cut entirely. This office has historically been the only location to support Social Studio and it was only in the last ~12 months that teams (outside of CTS) were ramped up in Support for these products. It doesn't make sense that this isn't a cost cutting measure – why else eliminate the most experienced reps on the product?

The Triage Team in our office was also cut. Other departments (even other teams within the larger CSG Org) are still located in Fredericton and were unimpacted.

Typical corporate BS that they care about the impacted people. Why won't they retrain people and recruit them in the new focus/demand areas instead? That would also eliminate the need to hire a 3rd party to help out with resume polishing and interview taking etc. Plus they won't have to worry about providing people health insurance and other benefits. I'm sick of these greedy executives who only care about their fat bonuses.

This is pathetic. All SF's talk about "ohana" is a sham. The talking heads in the all hands should be ashamed of themselves.

Hi team and teams! I was not impacted by this layoff but was impacted by a layoff in Feb for a team of 25 of us. It was so distressing and felt very blindsiding. Want to know if it's true if ppl who were let go did lose access to internal tools?? That seems so backwards in helping ppl find new roles internally (assuming that is an option). This is didn't happen to me and my team. We were able to use tools during our 45 day "transition" period.
