Thread regarding Accenture layoffs

It's coming and it'll be big

At least here in the NA. We'll see how things will pan out, but I'd say it'll be brutal. Consulting pipelines are looking healthier but we are still too heavy for the current demand - we need to get smaller. They waited initially as nobody knew where COVID will take us, now things are clear and there will be cuts.

I know for sure this will be deep.

Got my notice today. Been here 9 years. Actually got the news on the exact anniversary date. I was a good performer until suddenly I wasn’t.

I know every practice has been impacted except strategy. Why?

they get the IP and lay off the original employees to replace them with freshers. growth and profit. nothing else matters.

It sends a clear msg how much they care about their workforce when doing 18+ acquisitions considering the situation.

By wait, I think compared to Deloitte who started cutting deeply in May and April. ACN mostly because of the NGM decided to wait and see when it came to major cuts. It's now coming. Insane on the M&A stuff though. 18 acquisitions in FY20 and they're going slash 25,000 jobs. Such is life I suppose.

What do you mean they waited initially? layoffs started in May and ongoing.... Interesting there is no slowdown on M&A side
