Thread regarding Shell Oil layoffs

Got an Offer for Shell LNG, is it worth joining the company at this point?

Hi Folks,
I use to work for Shell Canada about 4 years ago, and our asset was sold off, and hence I started with a new company. I just got an offer from LNG Canada, it's a good role, but I am just wondering if it is worth joining the company. I am looking for some stability, and I am not sure how stable the company is right now compared to when I left a few years ago. Thanks for any input.

Shell's ceo is anti fossil fuel...he is saying he will transform shell into utility company...well it was believed lng was future for generating electricity...now there is a disrupter in energy industry and that is modular nuclear reactors...
With capacity to generate electricity to light the world and charge vehicles and future airplanes...so his plan to convert shell to utility company based on natural gas may not fly in 10 to 20 yrs either...
So fox we all had good run with oil and gas and it is time to break free...

The fact that they gave no jobs to Shell staff they are laying off and hire external says it all Shell Canada leaderhip s—s. That's what happens after years of promoting incompetent arse kissers

Join if you do not have any other options! Milk it as long as you can while actively looking for something else in a different industry.

Shell is not what it used to be. You see what is happening with prelude and lng in shell in general. This is not a good time to enter in my opinion. But only you can make that decision and congrats! Good luck
