About 1000-2000 employees are in the process of being laid off this week, mostly within the Sales organization and sub teams within specialists and enablement. The organization is planning to run extremely lean next year with little to no special programs or teams. Best of luck to those who have been or are being notified to find another role within 60 days within the company. It is going to be very, very challenging.

Any impact in MuleSoft ?
The All Hands call starts in 1 hour 20 minutes. Marc will not be present today...
@1nrf - dude, move on.
Another example of Billionaires like Benioff and Besos prioritizing profit and stock prices over people. Both have made BILLIONS during this crisis, and listen to them in the press talk about how hard this is for the American workers, and how their goal is to help those hurt. They will tell us taxes should be raised as unemployment soars. They don't pay those taxes, and only care about their stock and capital gains. Wake up people.....the billionaires are waging war against honest hard working people everywhere. Only one reason to cut people during record quarters and surging stock rises. Profit, greed and power. Good luck everybody affected. Marc is right about one thing.....these are difficult times. Just not for all of us.
Hey @1afi - when is that all hands call? I left in 2019 and would be courious to hear about the direction and narrative surrounding this. In my view, this could have been handled much, much better - how quickly Ohana got forgotten.
This is disheartening, our team just witnessed a bunch of colleagues being let go last year and early this year from the .org acquisition
All they had to do was cut the insane Marketing budgets. The amount they spend on rebranding and cartoon characters each year would cover a huge amount of those salaries of those laid off. Marketing paid for a custom font a few years ago, and now they are moving to a different font. How pointless is THAT? Just a single example out of thousands of the pointless marketing moves that simply waste money.
This impacted all departments, geos, and LOB's.
Wonder what would be said on the All Hands call later today? Any body know if CSG or Finance was affected?
I guess yachts are expensive
I don't understand? We've been stopping travel for quite a while now, the company should've saved lotsa travelling expenses. Going into DOW, better than expected earning, soaring stock prices and yet so many people are going to go? What the heck is going on?
and Marc is not being at the all hands tonight? he is making bret to the hard job...i lost a lot of respect for the guy today
So sorry to hear all this. Check out https://jobs.lever.co/attentivemobile?lever-via=BL6PVYVas_ - they are hiring a TON of roles (sales, CS, product, engineering, etc.) right now.
Any solutions consultants/sales engineers in the US who are impacted, shoot me an email. sriggs@adobe.com — I’m interested in meeting you.
Any CSG/Renewals?
@1emi ExactTarget got it today
@1emi+16C8X7pN Don't know about MC in Indianapolis, but a lot (several) of old-timers from ExactTarget got it today.
Management: "we need to cut costs. thank you for your contribution, but times are hard."
Also management: "we just had our best quarter ever, joined the DOW, and our stock price went from $200 to $270 overnight. excuse me while I bathe in cash."
The dissonance is loud with this one.
I was just eliminated from my position in TMP. So shocking, where is the Ohana during Covid and worse economic crisis that is yet to come? I feel very sad and I guess I will take a week to try and reframe my life and career.
Judging by most of the comments, they are culling positions from new Acquisitions and expensive office locations. Does anyone else get this feeling? So Tableau crossover roles, sales etc.
Any AE lay-off for ASEAN and Singapore market? Tableau..?
@1qzb no need for paycuts, we are awash in money. They just wanted to slightly change the operating model - hence the cuts. no amount of money could have saved the folks that got cut - they were just not wanted. many dear friends are in that group. almost all of them are very talented. it was a business decision (a wrong one IMO)
Much of the sales org did take a huge pay cut. They took away overtime, which is up to a 50% pay cut for many many Account Executives.
I would have TOTALLY agreed to a pay cut to save my friends'/peers' jobs... To save anyone's job.
Any impacts to Marketing Cloud teams?
I just welcomed 2 new hires to my team right before getting the call that 20 of us were being let go. Ohana! But make us look good or goodbye.
Any Marketing Cloud lay offs?
Any SE layoffs?
The rapid increase in stock price couple with overnight, corner-cutting layoffs makes it obvious they’re looking to sell the company
What’s mind boggling is Salesforce’s Market Cap has sky rocketed from $155B to $245B since Jan 2021. In just the last 24 hrs - Salesforce’ s Market Cap went up from $190B to $245B. More than $50B in a single day!!!
All this happened after Q2 results were announced and the CRM stock entered the DOW top 30. What costs are they trying to cut by laying off people??
FYI - Engineering did not get affected
How was EMEA been impacted?
Any commerce cloud layoffs?
Next up from the asean team
Entire Cloud Sales organization (Service cloud, Platform, and CPQ) laid of in FINS and HLS.
Any TMP/Software Engineers?
Hardware Asset Management, here. We only had a team of nine, globally, and I know that two of us are done for.
Pardot leadership here, notified yesterday I have 60 days. I was 10 months into my tenure here. Left a very stable secure position in healthcare for the kool-aide only to be shown the door. When Jim Roth said they would find the coins in the cushions to make the headcount increase, I never realized he was talking about me.
Sorry folks who have been asked to go in this troublesome times. I was in the same boat few months back and it is hard. Best of luck.
Ohana people would have thought of first reducing the salaries by 10% company wide and still would be better off than firing people. So sad that the companies do not think of people and their lives being impacted. b—s— HR. Do they even ever think of this way before cutting down?
Does anyone know if more layoffs on the way? I have just started after a shocking layoff 2019 at other company. Too tensed, if anyone could comment. Thank you.
I am part of an entire support pillar that was let go. The product will now only be supported by brand new agents in India. Good Luck clients.
