Bob did not agree with Farr taking out more costs at comres. Hence he was fired. Now that he is gone, Farr has a free hand to prop up share price by taking out costs and buying back shares. That’s the only tool that Farr has in his toolbox. The other tool he has is buying companies but that has not worked as every company Emerson bought has been destroyed. Farr does not know how to create value.

LK is a terrible person and should go along with DF. They have/are destroying Emerson.
He was only interested in his own personal advancement and would try to destroy anyone who he perceived as a threat. A self-righteous individual who espoused ethics, diversity, leadership; yet, behind the scenes tolerated unethical and inappropriate behaviors. He was only interested in creating the optics that would get him to dave’s chair.
Sharp delivered awful results, & his departure was the best decision coming out of St. Louis in years(haven't been many)!
Had no leadership attributes, was unpopular, & zero personality.
Most would rather watch paint dry, than spend time with him.
If his future to replace Farr would have been enhanced by more lay offs, they would have happened. - Already had laid off many folks, while destroying the HVAC/R business.
EMR is no longer relevant, given the sale of businesses over the years.
A $18B company with a future in oil, & gas?!
What a shame!!
Farr will announce he's staying until next year end of fiscal. Jamie and Lal will battle it out to determine who is next CEO. But it will be Jamie.
ComRes gets spun with a big package for JF to do it and be CEO. Lal wins the race to run whats left.
The biggest problem for Emerson is David Farr!!!!!!
You mean SOB Farr?
Comres will be spinned off once egotistical Farr is no longer CEO and chairman.
Layoffs is coming to comres in October/November. Be warned.
Am I the only one that finds it interesting that Sharp quits/gets fired a few days after Farr's egotistical rant, err webcast, was released?
I hope all the so called execs in St. Louis are fired once he takes over but Farr would want to hold on to the chairman position to protect himself and his people.
He has a master’s degree in communications. Are they serious?
Sanmar Daddy is out
Jamie is chosen successor for Farr
Jamie Froedge just was announced as the COMRES guy. Look out Lal.
Why am I not surprised? We all know Farr as the egoistic ceo who has superiority complex. Sounds familiar? like the one occupying the White House currently? He thinks he is a superior being compared to all of us.
Bob told some of us the reason he was fired by Farr. He stood up for what is right but Farr did not like it. Too bad for no integrity CEO.
Innovation does not exists in Emerson.
Emerson only cares about stock price because the few hundred executives receives thousands of performance shares every year. That’s what they protect because it’s their pockets they are protecting including Farr who was given hundreds of millions worth of Emerson shares.
Emerson doesn’t innovate and they have competition in spaces like HVAC that are hungry for market share and are willing to accept a lower profit to get it. Can’t cost reduce your products out of this dynamic.
Emerson business model....buy....milk it.....sell it. I think a lot of engineering employees don’t understand this and they spend years banging their heads against the wall trying to innovate in a business that only gives lip service to innovation.
No synergy between Comres and autosol. Splitting would enable both to grow. Only Farr’s ego prevent this. Once he is gone, good riddance and it will be split.
Only a matter of time before Copeland and Ridge are sold to the highest bidder. Then the rest of COMRES. Under 5% YOY growth means stagnant to STL.
This is the time that end of year layoff decisions are made. Likely it was already approved by the BOD and BS was the first to go. The will be communicated as part of an overall restructuring plan announced. Packages will be put in place to get signoffs prior to bonus payout in Nov. It may be time that they are finally selling C&R and will announce shortly after the new CEO is announced. This way DNF does not make it part of his legacy. This is only speculation but fits the EMR standard MO.
