Management knows a layoff is coming they got an email about the reduction in the hourly workforce. If people are standing around waiting for work than either the flow of the shop if all messed up. Or union workers are waiting for material to arrive so we can use the material. Either way I look at it is that a layoff is definitely coming this reminds me of the last 2 layoffs. Waist is high and people standing around with nothing to do is a flash back before I was led out the doors last time. I’m betting on sept or oct 2020 for the big ax to drop. Can only clean and sweep so much like last time. The days of OT and 800 hourly employees in 273 are over like the mega deal.
Not to mention you also have management telling people to brush off their resumes hourly and salary.
If you ask the union not untio next year, if you take a walk around and listen you will find out that they are trying to push work out as quickly as they can or if you're on the barshop you have to wait hours for bars to tape. My opinion sooner rather than later 20 or 24 generators is not a huge amount of work especially when steam and bucket people are gonna need to be moved someplace.
