I would certainly focus on departments. We have a considerable number of people in Overhead functions in US for a small company of our size. That needs to be trimmed immediately before asking the breadwinners (engineers) to go.

Focus on removing garbage not department. Most of US engineering team is not generating revenue. They don't even have leader to run RND in US. Support and RND teams in US are here just because the resources are friends/relatives/caste. Company will move in positive direction when managers stop supporting their buffelo resources.

Thanks. But why should Engineering team be impacted first when there is room to restructure in overhead roles in support functions? Why does our company require so many people in finance & accounting, hr, facilities, administration departments in US? I would suggest the management to explore non-engineering areas before choosing to let go engineers please.

Depends on Q3 results, US Engineering will be effected if Q3 targets are not met.
