Thread regarding L Brands layoffs

Cultural Self Awareness

Does anyone else feel it's odd that we have identified a cultural issue within the brand to the point it was highlighted by the CEO right after layoffs, but the selected narrative around the culture at the QB was based around Diversity and Inclusion? I understand the importance of D&I, but our cultural dysfunction is more deep than the spin off the brand is trying to portray that they are being more inclusive. Seems like we care more about what is a good brand marketing message over the welfare of employees trying to pick up the pieces of leadership fails that have led to the current state.

No cultural self-awareness. Often say what is pc and popular at the time but no follow thru and no enforcement at the lower levels of management. Right after the VS story broke about treatment of the models a manager that came over to our team to “blow off some steam” and said, they’re cattle that make a bunch of money, all they need to do is look pretty. Female employees in the area just laughed it off instead of checking him on his statement. There’s a culture problem alright.
