40th Anniversary

40 next year and most of the people that made it happen will not be there to mark the mile stone.

Chronology Key Dates

1981 Dril-Quip is founded in Texas by four partners.1983 The company forms a European division in Aberdeen, Scotland.1986 Dril-Quip opens a sales and service office in the Netherlands.1990 The company establishes a sales, service, and manufacturing facility in Singapore.1991 A second manufacturing facility near Houston begins construction.1994 A new office is established in Esbjerg, Denmark.1997 Dril-Quip reincorporates in Delaware and goes public.2005 Three new products are introduced to great success.2006 Dril-Quip celebrates its 25th anniversary.

I wasted a lot of years with DQ trying to make a positive impact. Never have a bean counter try to run manufacturing. With their new restructuring, their only saving grace they continue to sell off assets to make the bottom line look presentable. I would say by the end of the third quarter 2021 the game will be over and some company will buy DQ for a song. The dream of Gary, Mike, and Larry will be gone forever.

Yes it’s sad it has come to this, the downturn and what seems like a self destruct button has been activated by those in higher positions within,and those that follow them. I worked here for a decade, and DQ brought me a good living and a wealth of experience, sad times my friends, good luck to all for the future.
