Thread regarding Macy's Inc. layoffs

Our Health and Safety Standards

Let's go down the list, one by one and see how much of this is true.

•Hand sanitizer available- Yes
•Masks required- NOPE– not enforceable by employees or managers
•Increased cleaning in high touch areas- Well, if you consider 1 person in a Macy's apron going around with a spray bottle and paper towels "increased cleaning", then sure.
•Social distancing- NOPE! I laugh at that one.
•Colleagues completing wellness checks- NOPE– the only time my store ever did them correctly was when a guy from corporate was standing over them with a laptop. Everyone was confused and though there was an outbreak
•Gloves to be worn by BOH teams- Sometimes, but again not enforceable
•Plexiglass at checkouts- half true. Not every register has plexi, yet as the store gets busier, we're forced to ring on the ones that don't.
•Increased air ventilation in all stores- NOPE. ABSOLUTELY NOT. OUTRIGHT LIE. I've been in my store for many years and I have NEVER felt it so uncomfortable, you can feel the humidity and sweat in the air as soon as you walk in.

Macy's. Safety second.

Fulfillment gave up on gloves after 1 day at my store. We can't pack with gloves on! Tape gets stuck, bags get stuck.... can't do it with gloves, nitrile or otherwise

We sanitize frequently, but probably not as frequently as we should.

Did any of the stores have the high horizontal ledges or walls dusted before we opened for business? Visual usually talks about how thick the dust was when they put up the Christmas decorations.

I can pretty much confirmed that Macy's has in fact DECREASED air ventilation in all stores as a cost saving measure. You're Right, it's a blatant lie to the public and to the employees.

Bingo!
Here's a few more:

  • Fitting rooms cleaned out after each customer? No.
  • Customers use hand sanitizer before trying on jewelry? No!

Very typical of macy's to make rules that no one can enforce

Wow! You just hit a home run with that topic. ⚾ Everything is so true! Especially with the air ventilation, in my store 703 once you walk inside the store it's like a sweat shop. The weather in our city of Laredo, Texas gets to over 105° degree 🌞 and the heat index feels like 112°🔥 then you walk inside a sweat shop store like Macy's wearing a mask. 😷 That's why customers don't want to wear masks inside our store. 🤬

You have a long detailed list... meaning you still work there. If you're talking about physical health, you should also mention mental health. Both will get worse for you if you're not happy there, start looking for a job where you will be happy ...
