What hit home / shocked me was the monthly pension check amount.
Inflation is a k–ler and it eats away at Retirement living standards. The reality is some these guys who retired in the 70’s are still alive! That is scary with that small pension plus social security.
Below is a Direct quote from the article:
“ It had been his plan to take early retirement from Exxon—to receive a pension of $611.13 a month and perhaps in a few years to move to the country house he and his wife owned in Mississippi.”
Great story about how you should NEVER expect a company to be loyal to you. The company you work for is a job, not a birth right.
