Is there anybody left who actually enjoys working at Teradata? I'm just curious, because all of the people in my department are fed up and are looking for ways to leave (myself included.) I think as soon as more jobs become available once again, there will be a huge brain drain from this place.

Thanks for that update, PR.
Had a few in my team who left but soon discovered the company they joined ain't as cool as it's made out to be. All the spin and hype to get them to join turned out to be one big lie and now they can't leave because of covid. So they are stuck working on a c-ap product in the meantime. S—s to be them.
I believe it was VL's son-in-law, not his son. After the family lined their pockets havingTeradata acquire Think Big, the son in law was made head of America's consulting by VL. Before his departure, the services business peoduced negative margin for the first time in Teradata's history. They are a family of incompetents good only for self-promotion and greed.
@4fos+164VZBcz It was noted and was declared there was no conflict of interest.
I still have clear memory of an email covering the subject.
Shocked that no one noticed that VL’s son was the major investor in think big
We actually did (JC) and he is now CTO of Amazon......
I have to work with cloud teams and it's such a mess. The new VP is a mo–n surrounded by yes men. It takes months to get anything done and it doesn't work anyways. Teradata will be gone in a year.
This company is history. Seven years ago I told the top management to change course and do more with Cloud but no one was listening. I feel bad that good folks who worked for this company for years got screwed by VL and company. The top management at Teradata is useless and they make sure they hire guys who are like them. All the experiments under VL, KT and OL have taken this company down the wrong path. The board has failed miserably keeping the CEO under check and all the investment with good $$ couldn't save the company. Think Big was one of the failed investment and VL should be investigated for it. Teradata was a good company run by incompetent folks who ruined it. AMZN is run by competent folks and from selling books they have taken over the world. I wish we had one or two managers from AMZN we would be in a different place today.
Vantage is the fastest selling product in the history of toy IT solutions for babies!
After 10+ years I left because I was so fed up of the same old rhetoric.
Eventually it became so very dull and repetitive. Ground hog day!
Good news is that there are fantastic opportunities out there.
My biggest regret is not pressing the eject button sooner.
I bolted 2 years ago. I was tired of it then. I'd be putting my head through the wall on a daily basis if I was still there.
Why? Management's complete inability to reinvent this company. The same mgt types keep hiring the same people like them. It's like Jurassic Park...full of dinosaurs. I don't want them to fail, there are some good people there, but the only hope is being bought and Director and above gutted
I doubt it. I’m in the same boat as you. I’m tired of clueless managers and the bs. The company is finished.
