Does anyone have information regarding Warn Act notice? After reading into it, looks like the Warn Act is to provide employees a 60 day notice of termination (furlough). At our shop, we were given the notice and sent on our way. Was anyone given 60 days? I’m just a knucklehead railroader and cannot decipher the legalese of employer’s rights vs. employees. Wondering if there’s any actions furloughed employees may take, because our unions sure won’t do a damn thing.

We are supposed to be the union, but we all choose to let someone else handle it and not rock the boat, so here we are.
Only if they lay off 500 or workers at 1 location.
They kept a handful of craft working @ Jenks. To avoid the warn act.
I thought the warn act only applies if they lay off a certain percentage of the workforce. That's one reason why they do it in waves.
The warning UP gives is don’t come back on the property after you’re escorted off. Thanks for being part of the UP family now have a nice life.
Contact your state. They can help you with that. I know they went after them in the state I live in
I don’t think the WARM act applies in a national emergency. I haven’t read it but that’s what I was told.
