I visited that store a few weeks ago. The whole second floor is closed off except for an endless supply of bath towels that are on sale that circle the escalator. There was only one checkout open and it was in the men's department. A lot of the apparel was on sale.

the jobs site has been advertising positions up until the day the store closing job postings for years now. this is nothing new and is indicative of nothing. stores are the last to know, and sometimes employees aren't told even after the managers find out, only getting clued in when they're asked to put up the store closing signs.

Someone probably left and it will be left vacant until the store shuts down.

@ndn+162hDa8y.. managing a Taco Bell takes more skill than managing a Sears, and if all of the best people have left, then that would explain why all of the stores are doing so poorly... anyone who is still working at Sears/Kmart has no skills and/or common sense and is a perfect fit for the company..

Wasn't there a time when Sears store managers jobs were so special you had to work your way up in the company to become a store manager? Now they have to advertise them because the staff are so bad and the companies best people left long ago so they will take a manager of Taco Bell running the store or anyone who will be desperate enough to apply.

So?

Why would that location be popular? No one goes to Myrtle Beach and thinks “oh boy let’s go to Sears” especially since that mall has way nicer anchor stores (Dillard’s and Belk).
