Ok, I’m depressed. Another “peer” company is going to be bought by Chevron, in case you haven’t seent the news. Why can’t it be us? I feel like the lonely, ugly girl at the sock hop that nobody picks to dance with..... what is wrong with SWN that nobody wants us? Ugggh. So dopressing.

While this is not based upon any specific authority, there is no chance that Nill Pay is going to be forced out or retire given the fact he's done everything the Board wanted. Cut expenses, sold assets, increased percentage of production that is hedged, beat up on suppliers to reduce costs, eliminated almost anything in budget that was capable of being cut. What the board should have done is ask Nill why he waited for an economic collapse to even look at reducing drilling costs. He was in charge of Operations when well costs were $1,400 per foot, not the $600-700 per foot cost today. Imagine the money available to shareholders if Nill actually examined costs before he was forced to do so. Not exactly brilliant strategic thinking to not investigate reducing costs for the single biggest cost in biz.
Thanks JB! And now back to the booth Cotton. Here at ESPN the Ocho we have reports that the BOD is meeting tonight and a successor TBD before Friday’s call. On with the show!
Before analyst call on Friday hallway rumblings is BOD and WJW maybe parting “ways”? Anyone have some input?
you have to have a valuable asset before a Chevron will buy a SWN....and they have none!!!!
So glad I made it thru another week. Cash the paycheck. Onto the next week.
Can anyone confirm if there is a BOD meeting next week. It’s not on the calendar. Could be something?!
Thank you for confirming the layoff tally. Totally agree that more layoffs will occur this year. Just letting go of staff each quarter till it’s only the janitor, chef and ceo.
You were off by one. 68. The 69th person was previously laid off last year, but nobody told him. Today they merely fixed the “glitch”. Thank you for your interest. More layoffs in August. Stay tuned.
Can someone else offer up what was the number of layoffs today. The official number I am hearing is 69 across SWN.
Today is National Hot Dog day! Mr CEO and his band of flunkies have something special planned for hot dog day, that’s for sure. Be sure to catch all the action in Conference Center B. Fair warning, these hot dog antics are not for the faint of heart!
This could be a defining moment for SOUTHWEST! All time highs of dead weight. A bumbling, stumbling executive management team and an incompetent BOD. I am also hearing as a cost saving measure, we will be downgrading TP quality at HQ, except for the “executive stall”, reserved for the one and only... you know who.
Overheard just now some IT types talking about a new data room to be set up in the area just inside the walkway by the parking garage.
I remember when that same area was the “layoff war room of 2016”. Boy how time flies and glad I made it thru all 4 layoffs since then. Wait what? 4 layoffs since 2016. Thought the guy on 5 said no more after 2016. Lair gonna lie!
Back to my IT office!
This is good news for the vitality of SWN. Chevron will surely cut good talent from Noble. We need some additional top tier talent here to replace the lopsided dead weight we have here. All of the good talent have vacated SWN for much greener pastures. SWN leaders will be combing the streets and a lot of firing and replacement hiring will he going on soon. If you’re dead weight, the easy paycheck is coming to end at a SWN campus near you!
If I ain’t mistaken at least one of them toothless made it to Houston and the regulartory group. Dang. As I recall, not hotter than a two dollar pistol.
No one will buy us cause we are the toothless (thanks WV) girl at the sock hop and we have the town fool as a leader! Got it!
