Thread regarding W.B. Mason layoffs

What is going on with WB?

Ever since business volume has started to return WB has been insane and almost too stressful to handle. Compromising integrity and accountability and hurting customers in their wake. Business seemed to take a major hit in April, and has been on the rebound ever since. Sales Reps are on the truck/driving the truck 2-5 days a week. They are loading up at 7am, and then leaving the dock by 9am. On the truck until 1-2pm at least. If they're not on the truck they're throwing packages in their own cars to deliver them on their own dime. Afterwards, frantically scrambling to answer customer requests via email, text, phone. By the time they are done fixing basic issues it's already 5pm, and who wants to work longer than that when you are making 10-20% less? All the while the company is asking reps to force PPE down customers' throats but there hasn't even been time for them to sell.

There are no third shift loaders. Short on drivers. Customer service is thin and is taking up to
a week or longer to respond to basic internal requests. Print department is a month behind, order entry is weeks behind, designers are completely tied up. Drivers load their trucks themselves starting before 5am. They don't get off the dock until at least 8am. Lack of drivers has caused routes to be combined. Branches are anywhere from 2 or 3 to 10 days behind on deliveries. Seems like the company is on the verge of a full on revolt and everyone is on the verge of walking out. Whoever you talk to is p-ss-d beyond words. The worst part is that there has been no direction from Executive Management as to when pay will be reinstated, what they intend the next few months to look like, etc. We are left completely in the dark. Branch Managers can't even provide an explanation as to what the company intends the future to look like.

Everyone who is on furlough is about to lose their federal $600/week stimulus. How can they even furlough without a definite return to work date. Why don't they just call it what it looks to be, massive lay offs?

Can't make any sense of it. Maybe they are gearing up to sell? Otherwise no idea what they are thinking. Easy to understand that times are tough, but what is going on? Thoughts?

Not looking to come across as arrogant but I’m still slinging a solid commission check as well. If and when things get back to normal those of us that are left are going to be doing just fine;) - Ignore the hate there’s too much of it. If you’re still with WB and doing well than hats off to you.

LOL “30k commission” but he’s on a website called the Layoff searching for news on WB Mason. I guess all that money they wasted on Adobe analytics is paying off. Callahan??

So my last commission check was $30K. Car allowance is back. Changes are being made to the commission structure. COVID was a chance to get rid of the dead weight(In most instances). Couldn’t have happened any other way. Spend less time worrying about something you’re no longer a part of.

Just to make a slight correction the Sales Representatives commission/pay has been cut by 80-90%. Car allowances cut completely all of this without any or only 24 hour prior notice.
