Enbridge Layoffs record

Shall we talk numbers chaps.

Oct 2016 - 17200 total employees
June 2020 - 10700 Total employees

So enbridge lost Approx 6500 employees (almost 38-40 percent of workforce) in 3.5 yrs and had 4 reorgs. Very grim record indeed!!

If you were laid off in last 3.5 yrs you are almost making up a majority so don’t be sad as people who are left behind are relatives after all Enbridge is a family business. Some families are making more 1.5 million/year as everyone In these families works in Enbridge as a manager and no one is laid off. This organization is a joke and I am so sad that I couldn’t get VWO and now I have to wait for retirement - 4 more yrs

Time to bring in the fresh blood in management as they don’t know what’s happening.

Can you people just leave already? I'm not talking about the leaders and staff that believe in the company's strategy and future but the whiners and whingers who don't realize how good they have it. BTW, those "numbers" either aren't correct or need to be better explained. Based on enterprise software licenses alone, Enbridge did not have 17K employees in 2016 even if you add Spectra before the merger.

When you spend decades building an inefficient, obese organization, it takes more than one upheaval to fix it.

Multiple reports over 4 years strikes me as a caution approach. As I shareholder I approve.

They ravaged the Spectra Energy clan as soon as they could. Some were dead weight and had to go but many were valuable employees.

Many of the higher ups in the company talk the talk but don't walk the walk with ethics. They also don't give a rats a– about people below them and are more interested in kissing #$& of those above them. They are incompetent managers as a result of that and other reasons including no qualifications. So folks, you need to always watch your backs and not rely on support.

Why is nepotism an acceptable topic for this site while comments pertaining to s-xism and racism have been removed? Enbridge must be involved in some legal battles on those topics.

I agree as in the field they have moved Control Center people to the field as Managers. Clueless and Very poor leaders ! While long time field people get over looked. Whats up with that?

Not to worry. IPLE guy, PCSLD, and SCM BPs will fix this disfuntional company.

Yes lots of nepotism in this corporation = lots of unqualified people = lots of stupid decisions = a dysfunctional organization.
