I know this is probably the unpopular opinion, but I am pretty disgusted to learn that OXY is only restoring our salaries on July 1st so that they can qualify to the CARES act funds. This is not because they care about us, this is not a classy move on OXYs part, this is simply because OXY was required to restore salaries to precut levels in order to meet the requirements to receive funds. For me, ill continue to work here until I find a new job, but the relationship is beyond repair with OXY.

I am just glad to get my salary back and at this point and could care less for the reasoning. Sometimes you just got to accept something might be what it is. The 30% was a lot to lose and I am sure

I was Loxy, under 40. I took the vsp. The apc purchase made me realized I was doing myself a huge disservice by not leaving, if there were companies like apc that were paying more and had better bonuses. I didn't want to be a 1 dimensional 40+ year old one day, just set in my way because I have a job, and was too scared to put myself out there. I have 20+ years left in my work career, I didn't want to waste my time anymore. Oxy really needs a culture change, but it might not even matter, I dont see Oxy surviving. They will not able to sell any of the apc assets at decent prices, and noone will buy Oxy pre-bankruptcy. Everyone know they can buy it cheaper in bankruptcy.
Don’t forget our CEO @ APC left with a whole lot money than your CEO. If I recall our pay & bonuses blow Oxy’s away. I don’t recall hearing how great Oxy’s holiday parties were? Too much pride with Oxy folks, basically they have NOTHING on LAPC.
LAPC is protected for a good while, I think you are just realizing you made a mistake by leaving. APC was the BEST co. to work for in Houston.
So when LAPC leaves I just want to say good luck. I am sure you guys are good, but you are pretty c—y across the board. Yes, you hate Oxy, and that is fine. Wherever you go your attitude of being better than your co-workers is always going to get people to not care for you. I worked ay APC for years and saw the c—y a– attitude of the young folks all the time. APC led you to believe you were the smartest and best out there, but in reality you are good but so are the Exxon, Chevron, and a lot of smaller companies employees. I left to go to a smaller company because Anadarko had zero growth potential and paid less than their industry peers. All that changed over time, but once APC started kissing interns asses and the young crowd it went to hell. There is no doubt they had great benefits as well, but I have made just as much money or more than I would if I had stayed at APC. Your CEO sold you down the river, and that was because he had no faith you guys could add value going forward. When I was there many on my team took two hour lunches to workout, hit the frozen yogurt bar in the pm, and enjoyed some Starbucks. If that was not enough they could be found in the massage chairs, or getting an actual massage on the days it was open. Those were great perks, but you see where they got you. A 6 hour workday was not uncommon.

VH should’ve taken care of her company before she bought a great company in APC. All Oxy employees have their own stupid way of thinking, one word describes it CHEAP
I’m waiting for another VSP to leave this hellhole, recovery won’t come for another 5 years. I’m too young to wait that long, hope they get swallowed up quick. You are right LAPC HATES Oxy and Oxy HATEs LAPC.
Not unpopular at all OP. LAPC hates OXY. LOXY hates APC. This is the way it is and will be for a very long time because VH and her gang of criminals pitted us all against each other with her lies and deceit.

The vsp game, was one of the worst corporate bs I have ever experienced. It is absolutely insulting to play games with people paychecks and emotions.
They have the lowest of morals and ethics. I know first hand.
