Anyone have there 1-on-1 yet, with updated Real info? I know everyone is worried, but all these past posts are different. Yes there will prob be more layoffs, everyone saw that coming. I do wish you all the best and hope most of these rumors are just that, rumors. Praying for everyone that has 1on 1 today.

15 years and was treated like just a number yesterday....beginning of the end for Staples as Sycamore tries to reco er their losses.
Yeah and also with the elimination of people working in their offices get ready for areas when back to school hits and it’s nothing but remote learning and the season staples banks on vanishes so will employees

I was let go today after 22 years working for this company
25plus years in field sales here - let go today after being on 100percent furlough - I’m a mess and I know it hasn’t fully hit me yet. Positions were across the board and age range + throughout the country. I’m going to miss my team and many friends. Good luck to those of you in the same boat.
I was At 50% furlough and was shown the door today along with another colleague of mine. They removed furlough of another one of my colleague And bought him back
I left the company in January after being there for 10 years and was sad to leave my colleagues and friends, but it was left at that. Don’t miss the company and the bs they put us employees through every year/every 6 months wondering if we had jobs or not. Sycamore partners buying Staples was the worst thing that ever happened to that company and it still shows. I am sorry for my friends and old counterparts but they will realize that the grass IS so much greener on the other side.

Are people really surprised a company that relies on customers being in a office using products is laying off right now?
I was shown the door today. Only issue is Visa otherwise i don't feel bad. My colleague were shocked. Anyways I wish everyone a good luck.

Over 500 positions in sales were eliminated this go around. I think all have been notified.
You would know by know. Think about it, SD would not provide an update in the middle of the carnage. Unfortunately you still have a job.
This is so frustrating. We know people are affected by these layoffs and it’s so awful. But we have no idea who, or if it’s over. Sandy Douglas sent out a video saying there are changes and positions eliminated, but we do not know if it’s Staples Business in Canada or not. I just wish we would get reassurance or communicated to that it does affect us, and what departments were affected.
What jobs are the letting go?
Also was let go. I have a feeling it may be employees who had higher salaries where Staples wasn’t willing to foot the bill when they have young , cheap labor at their disposal.

The cuts are going deep! I got a call from my RSD today and I asked if I should wait for HR to join the call. It saddens me that Staples has let go some amazingly talented people. My heart goes out to all that were let go today.

It’s true - had an unexpected 1 on 1 with my supervisor, my position supposedly was terminated, there are two others with the same position I had - they stay
