That dept is a joke, arrogant pilots & terrible staff. No one at Oxy is Executive below standards. Heard some big wigs left that dept

Oxy uses this plane for back door deals, and elicit illegal deals. Make of it what you will. No border patrol in the skies. Use you brain folks.

@ixlp It’s not a question of cost effectiveness between private and commercial. It’s an analysis of the trade off between having an employee whose time is valuable because the company gives them trust, autonomy and accountability spend 20 hours on transit in a week vs 2 hours vs no hours and no in person attendance at trainings or job hazard analyses.

And that's where VH and Oxy leadership gets their power and entitlement.... you think you are a grunt. It has been commented here before that LAPC held high standards for their work and they were usually responsible and accountable for a lot more than their Oxy counterpart. So to think you are not worthy of available and efficient travel is just the start. Dont get me wrong.. when booking the flights, if a EVP had it booked.. it's not like we rented another jet. It was using available resources appropriately.

It's not like we flew to Omaha to screw over shareholders or selling assets we didnt own to a IOC for pennies in France.

It is hard to believe using the corporate jets for less than the executive level is cost effective compared to commercial business class. It goes back to the executive level time is worth more than the grunt level. Not only in the higher pay but in the amount of value they create.

@1mds,
Wrong, we are not confusing them with a corporate charter. It's just that at APC, the jets were used for corporate reasons just as much as for executives... but they were certainly executive jets. Here is the registration for one we used in case you want to look up the type of plane.

Tail number: N257A
2018 GULFSTREAM AEROSPACE GV-SP (G550)
Fixed wing multi engine
(20 seats / 2 engines)
OwnerAPC AVIATION INC
THE WOODLANDS , TX, US
(Corporation)

I think some are mistaking Corporate Jets with Executive Jets. I don't think Vicki's Executive Jet will be used for training purposes... the Corporate/ UA Lease Jet, yes.

Ditto below. LAPC used them for the regular folk to get their jobs done efficiently.

While at APC I was able to utilize the corporate fleet for company wide trainings on many occasions. It was much easier to leave our hanger and get to some of our field and office locations early in the AM and then back in the same evening with our training team than it would be to travel commercial, rent Van's and then stay the night and expense meals because we missed the one of 2 flights commercial offered near those locations. We accomplished in 3 or 4 day trips what would usually be 2 work weeks worth of commercial travel.

Executive airplanes have been a joke since forever. Anyone can book a flight on a commercial airliner.

No company needs a jet. If the company you work for does own one then you know they would rather misappropriate funds before better funding your health care plan

Looks like you need some work to keep you real busy and help you focus on important issues in the company.
